I felt called and here we are.

I was raised in a Methodist church from a very early age. I attended church and Sunday school. Was in the youth choir. Was part of the youth group. Attended annual Bible School. Was/am a member. All of my children were christened there. The same little white church up on the hill for all these years. It was just the way things were. God was a big part of my life.

Fast forward to over 33 years ago when I met my husband. He was not raised in a church. He did not do all the things I did. But he attended with me and also became a member and part of the Men’s group. It was a normal life for us. We went to church. We sent our children to Sunday school and Bible school. We participated and helped in other activities. It was just the way things were.

Life events changed our focus and unfortunately pulled us away from the church we had known for years. And that was just the way things were for over 10 years.

And then, in May of 2024…..I heard a song on the radio (Back Pew by Lily Rose). I added it to my playlist and put it on repeat for hours. It fit. I was that girl. I was at one of the lowest points in my life. So I used social media to find a church. A church for the next morning. My post was flooded with options but one was very popular. That same place was recommended by a ‘friend of my husband’. So I went and have attended now for over a year. Click here to read more about SonRise. Either in person or on-line. It has been the best thing ever and now, I feel called to be a missionary. To love like Jesus even when I don’t want to. To reflect the life of a Christian so others want it too.
