The first sermon was to me. I didn’t just happen to be there, God put me there. The songs and worship didn’t just happen to fit. They were for me. And the commitment I have to continuing to attend and be a part of this church makes me happy. My goal is to become a member in 2026. I don’t want to just ‘attend’. I want to be active. I want to be a part of the church and use my hands and feet to continue to be a missionary.
I have friends at SonRise that pray for me. Fiends that would be by my side in a minute. Friends we have have shared meals together. Friends we have shared family stories, triumphs and trials. The network of people now available to me is incredible. I will forever be thankful for my SonRise family.
Every Sunday, we are asked to go tell someone about Jesus and bring them back. That’s what this blog is all about. While you may not ”come back” with me to SonRise, my hope is you too, have the desire to follow Jesus and gain all the beautiful things I have (and continue to). I have learned to pray for people that have tried to destroy me. I have prayed for people I know don’t have the same relationship to God in hopes that they gain one. I have prayed for my family. My friends. My enemies. I have prayed for peace.
So here’s my ask – If you’ve been searching for peace, hope, or purpose, know that you can find it in Jesus. Don’t wait—take a step today. Whisper a simple prayer, ‘Jesus, I want to know You.’ Open His Word, reach out to a believer you trust, or visit a local church (SonRise has a live stream!) . He promises that if you seek Him, you will find Him. That’s my hope for you. ❤️
