The Impact of Charlie Kirk’s Death on Me: Faith, Grief, and a Call to Live Differently

On September 10, 2025, my phone lit up with breaking news: Charlie Kirk has been shot. Within minutes, headlines confirmed he was gone.

I’ll admit, I didn’t know much about him beyond recognizing his face from political campaigns. Without question, I was drawn in. I spent hours reading, watching, and listening to learn about the man behind the name.

First Reactions — Shock, Disbelief, and Searching for Answers

Moments like this stay with you. I will always know where I was and what I was doing. Much like, 9/11 or when Princess Diana died. And the moment my daughter called (as she does every day, asking what I was doing. I simply said, “absorbing Charlie Kirk’s death”. Her response was “who is that?”. But now, she knows him just as well as most. ❤️

Consumed by Media and Questions….That afternoon turned into evening as I searched for answers. I scrolled social media, tuned into Fox News, read articles, and found podcasts. The grief of strangers became something I carried too.

Discovering Turning Point USA….in the process, I learned about Turning Point USA and what Charlie Kirk represented. For many, he was more than a political voice — he was a leader unafraid to speak boldly about faith and values. And his wife and family. Oh my goodness. How so, so sad. What a beautiful family he has.
