Finding Peace and Reflection in Your Daily Cup

As this season of Fall as begun, my cup of coffee in the morning or even afternoon, is a little daily joy that brings comfort, calm, and connection to God: I have to give a shout out to our new Ninja coffee maker. Anyway, there’s just something magical about a warm cup in hand, paired with Scripture or a devotional. For me, this is the perfect way to blend coffee and faith—a simple ritual that grounds my day and opens my heart to God’s word.

Whether it’s a verse from Psalms or a story from a devotional, this combination of mindfulness, warmth, and focus makes prayer and reflection feel effortless. Coffee and faith together become a daily sanctuary.

Psalms 5:3 Says “O Lord, in the morning shalt thou hear my voice; In the morning will I order my prayer unto thee, and will keep watch.”

Morning devotionals with your favorite brew

Starting the day with coffee and a Bible can create an intentional rhythm. A quiet spot, favorite brew….sometimes a latte and sometimes a classic cup, and read a passage. You will be surprised how carving out ten minutes is all it takes to set the tone for the day. I usually do this in my office as I prepare for my work day but honestly, you can do this anywhere. Your favorite chair, your bedroom or even in your car as you head to work.

Midday reflections or journaling

Coffee isn’t just for mornings. Lately a mid afternoon cup has become a new norm for me. A quick drive to my fav ‘local’ coffee shop. Menu on the counter with their month specials to make my pick then off I go. This short drive allows me to listen to Elevation Worship and reflect on Scripture, pray and give thanks. Just this 20 minutes, turns an ordinary moment into a sacred one.

Coffee, Faith, and Community

For some, coffee and faith can extend beyond personal time. Invite a friend, spouse, or family member to share coffee and Scripture. These moments create connection, accountability, and encouragement in your faith journey. I don’t have anyone close that I do this with yet, but maybe….just maybe one day. 🙌🏻

Even if you’re alone, your coffee ritual can become a time to lift up loved ones in prayer, reflect on their needs, and be intentional about interceding for others.
