Open hands, open hearts and feet that keep moving –

When we first started attending SonRise, we had no idea what the next two years would hold.
We simply showed up.
One sermon turned into another, and before we knew it, we hadn’t missed a single one—whether sitting at the tables or in the chairs (most Sundays) or tuning in from home. What started as attendance quickly became something much deeper.
It became belonging.
Over time, we built friendships and relationships with so many incredible people. Not surface-level connections, but real, meaningful relationships—the kind where you show up for each other, pray for each other, and walk through life together.
And now? We’re serving.
We’re using our hands and feet to help bring others closer to God. And honestly—it feels awesome. There’s something powerful about stepping into your purpose and being part of something bigger than yourself.
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know I truly believe this is the church that built me.
Even at 63, as a lifelong Christian, I still had so much room to grow. My faith wasn’t finished—it was still being shaped, deepened, and stretched. That’s where SonRise came in. God placed me exactly where I needed to be.
And what has come along with that has been immeasurable.
Dinners with fellow parishioners. Fellowship, prayers, fun.
Trips to support one another for baptisms of family member.
Photos taken for my branding, by the one and only, talented Dona, within the church.
This church is filled with gifts—so many talents it would be impossible to list them all. But what matters most isn’t just the talent—it’s the willingness to use it to serve others.
SonRise is a place of open hands and open hearts, with feet that are always moving.
And I am so proud to be a part of it.
There isn’t a single person we’ve come to know that I couldn’t call in a moment of need—whether to show up, to help, or simply to pray. That’s what makes this so special.
These are my people.
And Scripture reminds us just how important that kind of community is:
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together… but encouraging one another.” — Hebrews 10:24–25
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17 This is one of my husband’s favorite.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” — Acts 2:42
We weren’t meant to walk this journey alone. We were meant to live in community—to grow together, to support one another, and to point each other back to God.
That’s what SonRise has been for us. And I thank God every day that He led us there.
And here’s my invitation for you – If you’ve been searching for a place to belong, or even just feeling like something is missing, I encourage you—find a church. Find your people. And if you’re nearby, come sit with us at SonRise. You never know what God might have waiting for you and we are always looking for that ‘one more’. ✝️

Thanks for stopping by. Blessings to you! –Bev
