Esther

Esther is such an awesome Book of the Bible with a story that hits home. This Book was part of the Silent Retreat which is where I first starting hearing of Esther’s story. And then….the Ladies of SonRise announced their latest Bible Study was going to be Esther. Fitting! This story really does resonate with so many people because of the theme – an ordinary woman placed in an extraordinary moment for God’s purpose. Her courage and willingness to step forward “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14) has inspired countless Bible studies and retreats.

Since I can’t attend in person consistently, and there is no virtual opportunity, I decided to do this on my own. I ordered the book from Amazon, which came the next day and immediately started mapping out my plan. This book is super helpful as it provides a guide “How To Use This Study”, Videos, a Leader Guide and some bonus content. For a quick minute, I thought it would be a great idea to do my own with some friends. That thought escaped quickly even though I wondered if God planted that thought for a reason….maybe in the near future. 🤣

This is a seven session study so I decided to do weekly which allowed me to follow along with The Ladies of SonRise Facebook page/comments.

Basically there is reading involved, personal reflection questions and personal responses. I struggle with the timeline of things in the Bible, so this study works well with me learning because it references the timeline and includes a map.

I highly recommend this as a personal Bible study or as a group if you have some friends that would love to also learn about Esther and how this applies to our lives today. I do feel there is something very powerful about doing a study personally first. It lets you absorb the message deeply before sharing it with others.
