Morning Always Comes
“His mercies are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:22-23
Have you ever noticed how problems seem so much bigger at night?
The house gets quiet. The distractions fade away. Your mind starts replaying conversations, wondering what-ifs, and carrying burdens that seemed manageable just a few hours earlier.
Over the past two or three years, we’ve walked through some incredibly difficult trials. While we haven’t shared everything publicly, we’ve opened our hearts to a few close friends and family members who have faithfully walked beside us.
Recently, after sharing part of our story with a dear friend, she approached us a few days later.
“I’ve been thinking about what you told me,” she said. “Can I ask you something? Even though it’s been so hard…has anything good come from it?”
Without hesitation, Ronnie and I looked at each other and answered together.
“Yes!”
Absolutely yes.
Not because the circumstances were good.
Not because we would ever choose this path.
But because God has been incredibly faithful in the middle of it.
Those difficult seasons led us to a church that has forever changed our lives. We became members of a church family that loves us, encourages us, and points us to Jesus every single week.
We have more genuine friendships today than we’ve ever had before. Not surface-level friendships, but people who pray for us, check on us, share meals with us, recommend books that strengthen our faith, send Scripture in a text message just when we need it, and lovingly remind me who I am in Christ when I begin believing I’m somehow unworthy.
There was a time when I questioned whether I was worthy of this kind of friendship. I wondered if the broken pieces of my story made me “too much.” But these sweet friends never saw me that way. They simply loved me. They reminded me that my identity isn’t found in what has happened to me but in whose I am. Sometimes God answers our prayers not by changing our circumstances, but by placing people beside us who continually point us back to Him.
We’ve grown closer to the family we do have. We’ve learned to appreciate ordinary days. We’ve discovered peace in the middle of chaos.
As strange as it sounds…
We’ve found joy even while walking through heartache.
I truly believe that’s what happens when we surround ourselves with people who share our values.
People who love Jesus.
People who aren’t afraid to speak truth with grace.
People who celebrate your victories, cry through your disappointments, and gently remind you that God hasn’t forgotten you.
The people you spend your time with matter.
Scripture reminds us,
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
Proverbs 27:17
I’m so thankful for the people God has placed in our lives. They have been His hands and feet during seasons when we could barely find the strength to stand.
Lately, I’ve also started another simple routine.
Every morning, I’ve been going for a walk while listening to RightNow Media. This week’s study has been Love Your Mornings, and it’s caused me to think differently about the start of each day.
Morning is God’s daily reminder that yesterday doesn’t get the final word.
Every sunrise is an invitation to begin again.
His mercies are new.
His grace is sufficient.
His hope is waiting.
I’ve realized something else too.
The enemy loves the darkness.
Not because darkness has power, but because that’s often when we’re exhausted, discouraged, and tempted to believe our problems are bigger than our God.
And with fall just around the corner, when daylight becomes shorter and evenings come earlier, those feelings can seem even heavier.
But morning always comes.
The sun rises.
The birds begin singing.
The coffee brews.
Morning chats between Ronnie and me.
God is already awake, already working, already faithful.
He never stopped.

A Moment to Reflect
Take a moment today and think about the people surrounding you.
- Who points you closer to Jesus?
- Who reminds you of God’s truth when you forget it yourself?
- Who encourages your faith instead of feeding your fear?
And maybe ask yourself one more question.
Are you that kind of friend for someone else?
We all need people who will lovingly tell us the truth, pray with us, celebrate with us, and remind us that God is still writing our story.
If you’re walking through a difficult season today, don’t miss the blessings that may already be growing in the middle of it.
Sometimes God doesn’t remove the storm right away.
Sometimes He sends the right people to walk through it with us.
And every single morning…
He reminds us that His mercy is brand new.
Prayer
Father, thank You for never leaving us alone. Thank You for placing faithful friends in our lives who encourage us, challenge us, and point us back to You. Help us to notice the good You are doing, even when life feels difficult. May we wake each morning remembering that Your mercies are new, Your faithfulness never ends, and Your hope is greater than anything we face. Help us also to be that faithful friend for someone else. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“The right people won’t remove your storm, but they’ll remind you where to find the One who calms it.”

Thanks for stopping by. Blessings to you! –Bev
