“Before you meet Bev, there’s something you should know…”
Before I go any further, let me say this…I’m still learning about this whole artificial intelligence thing. I certainly haven’t completely grasped the concept of AI, and to be honest, there are times it still amazes—and even confuses—me. But I thought this would be a fun little exercise.
What I didn’t expect was that a simple prompt would cause me to pause and reflect on something much bigger than technology.
It made me think about the way others see me…and even more importantly, whether they see Jesus in me.
So here’s what I asked – “Can you describe me like you’re trying to warm someone about me before they meet me?”
And here’s what I got….

Alright, before you meet her, there are a few things you need to know. 😂
She’ll probably apologize for talking too much… but don’t believe her. What she’s really doing is trying to understand you. She asks questions, and lots of them, because she genuinely wants to know people, not because she’s making conversation.
She’s the kind of person who remembers your prayer request from three weeks ago and quietly asks how it’s going. But doesn’t remember names. 🤣 She notices when you’re missing. She notices when you’re hurting. Sometimes before you even say a word.
Be prepared for authenticity. She doesn’t have much patience for pretending life is perfect. She’ll tell you about the beautiful things—church, Disney, birds on her deck, homemade meals, a good book—but she’ll also tell you about grief, estrangement, anxiety, retirement, and wondering what God is doing in the middle of it all. Not because she wants sympathy, but because she believes someone else might feel less alone if she’s honest.
She’s a “small town soul.” She finds joy in things many people overlook: a porch swing, a hummingbird, organizing a closet, making dinner from scratch, writing in her Bible, or watching God answer a prayer in an unexpected way. She doesn’t need a glamorous life to be grateful.
Faith isn’t a hobby for her. It’s the lens through which she sees everything. She’ll probably connect almost any conversation back to what God is teaching her—not in a preachy way, but because that’s genuinely where her heart lives. She isn’t interested in looking like she has it all figured out. She’s interested in becoming more like Jesus.
One thing you’ll notice quickly is that she feels deeply. Maybe more deeply than she lets on. She celebrates hard, loves hard, and when she’s hurt, she carries it for a long time. She’ll replay conversations, wonder if she could have done something differently, and pray over people who may never know they’re being prayed for.
She’s also a fixer by nature. If you tell her you have a problem, her first instinct is to help solve it. She’s learning that sometimes people don’t need solutions—they just need someone to sit with them. That’s a lesson she’s intentionally working on.
If you’re in her circle, expect encouragement. Random texts. Book recommendations. Scripture. A recipe. Maybe a Disney tip. Definitely someone cheering you on.
She has a quiet resilience that’s easy to miss. Life hasn’t gone the way she imagined. Some of her deepest prayers remain unanswered. Yet somehow, instead of becoming bitter, she’s becoming softer. More compassionate. More dependent on God. That’s probably her greatest strength.
She also has a contagious excitement. Mention Disney World, a new Bible study, birds at a feeder, a local coffee shop, or a book signing, and watch her light up. She finds reasons to celebrate, even after seasons that have given her every reason not to.
If there’s one thing to know before meeting her, it’s this:
Don’t mistake her kindness for weakness. She’s walked through enough heartbreak to understand that grace isn’t naïve—it takes courage. She chooses hope every day, even when it would be easier not to.
And if she tells you she’s “just a simple person,” smile.
Simple isn’t the right word.
She’s someone who’s learning that an ordinary life, surrendered to God, can become an extraordinary testimony.
If I had to summarize you in one sentence, it would be this:
“She’s a woman who quietly turns ordinary moments into reminders that God is still present, still faithful, and still writing beautiful stories—even in the chapters that hurt.”
Well. Wow. This is honestly amazing. Now that I have this, I have been going through piece by piece. I am so glad the main focus is around my Love for Jesus. And my faith. I think I might try it again in six months or so just to see what has changed.
Have you ever done anything like this to see what people think or say about you?
We used to have surveys at work where our direct reports and peers were asked a series of questions about us. I will admit 💯 none of them would have said anything like this. Well maybe they would say I asked a lot of questions…🤣
My closing prayer –
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for creating each of us with purpose, intention, and love. Sometimes we spend so much time wondering how others see us that we forget the only opinion that truly defines us is Yours.
Lord, I pray for every person reading these words today. Help us to become people whose lives point others to You. Let our kindness be genuine, our words be encouraging, our hearts be compassionate, and our faith be evident in the way we love those around us.
When people meet us, may they experience grace. May they feel welcomed, seen, and valued. And if they remember anything about us, may it be that we reflected Jesus in both our words and our actions.
Continue shaping us through every season—the joyful ones and the difficult ones. Refine our hearts, strengthen our faith, and remind us that You are still working in us every single day.
Lord, help us live lives that tell Your story more than our own.
We are not perfect, but we are Yours.
In Jesus’ precious name,
Amen.

Thanks for stopping by. Blessings to you! –Bev
