The Lie You Don’t Know You Believe by Jennie Allen
I love to read. My favorite time to read is in the evening but…if I’m lucky enough to be near the ocean, in a more laid back environment, reading is often. And anywhere.
My Bible and spiritual book shelf holds some of the most meaningful books of our home. This shelf is where I keep the books that ground me, challenge me, and remind me to slow down and listen for God’s voice. When life gets busy or uncertain, the rows of colorful books draw me back to the basics of faith—prayer, reflection, and the quiet reassurance that God is always at work, even when I can’t see the full picture. Who knows, maybe in the future I will organize a book club…I think there would be value in a group of ladies, escaping the crazy life, reading a book that can provide exactly what we need. Grounding. Hope. Joy. So stay tuned and join the e:mail list so you don’t miss out on this ‘future’ club. 📚
Recently, I attended an IF:Gathering where Jennie Allen spoke, which made a big impact on me. After hearing her message, I added her book The Lie You Don’t Know You Believe – (this is her latest book) to my shelf.

Jennie Allen talks about how the lies we believe can quietly shape our thoughts and steal our peace, and she points readers back to the truth found in God’s Word. Her teaching is both practical and deeply spiritual, encouraging women to take control of their thoughts and replace lies with truth. It focuses on the idea that many struggles in life come from hidden beliefs (lies) about ourselves that we don’t even realize we’ve accepted as truth. The book blends biblical teaching, personal stories, and practical exercises to help people change the narratives running their lives.
I am anxious to read more of her books and have ordered “Find Your People”. It does seem like since C’OVID many of us have spent much, much more time alone. There is definitely something to be said about collaborating and sharing with the ‘right’ people. This sounds like a good one so will keep you posted.📚
You can find this book along with others here.

Thanks for stopping by. Blessings to you! –Bev
