Women of the Bible Speak

Reading The Women of the Bible Speak by Shannon Bream has been a meaningful and encouraging experience for me. The book shares short but powerful stories that give insight into the lives of women in Scripture. Each section focuses on two women, which makes the reading manageable while still allowing time to reflect on their faith, struggles, and how God worked through their lives. I found that these stories helped me see the women of the Bible in a more personal way and reminded me that their journeys still speak to us today.

As I read through the book, I developed a method that worked well for me. First, I read the section about the two women highlighted in that chapter. After finishing, I took time to pause and think about what I had just read. I reflected on their experiences and what lessons God might be teaching through their stories. Next, I read the scriptures that were referenced in the chapter. After that, I read the same scriptures again in my Application Bible. Reading the passages more than once helped bring everything together and gave me a deeper understanding of the context and message.

Because I had previously participated in The Bible Recap, many of the stories were familiar to me. As I read, I found myself recalling things I had learned before, which helped strengthen my understanding. It reminded me that each time we return to Scripture, God can reveal something new and deepen our faith.

I will admit that I sometimes struggle when it comes to answering questions about what I read. I tend to get anxious and wonder if I truly understood everything. However, this book reminded me that learning from God’s Word does not always mean having perfect answers. I did not feel the need to formally answer every question that was included in the book. Instead, I read the questions and allowed them to guide my thoughts and reflections. Simply thinking about them helped me process what I had read.

One of the most helpful things I did was slow down my pace. I chose to read only one section each week. Throughout the week, I would think about the stories, revisit the scriptures, and reflect on the lives of the two women I had read about. I would replay the lessons in my mind and consider how their experiences related to my own faith journey.

Through this process, I realized that repetition is very important for my learning. Revisiting the material and reflecting on it throughout the week helped the lessons stay with me. Instead of rushing through the book, it became a devotional experience where I could truly think about the faith, courage, and struggles of these women.

The Women of the Bible Speak reminded me that God uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways. The stories of these women show that faith is often lived out through challenges, patience, and trust in God’s plan. Their lives continue to encourage and teach us today, reminding us that God is present in every part of our journey.

I would highly recommend The Women of the Bible Speak to anyone who wants to better understand the women of Scripture and the lessons their lives still offer today. The book is easy to read, yet it encourages deep reflection and connection with God’s Word. Whether you read it quickly or, like I did, take it one section at a time, it provides an opportunity to slow down and think about how God worked through these women’s lives. Their stories remind us of faith, courage, redemption, and God’s constant presence. If you are looking for a meaningful devotional study or simply want to grow in your understanding of the Bible, this book is well worth the read.

I have included the resources in the event you decide to join in this study. Keep me posted and let me know, I always love to receive feedback and insights. ❤️🙏
