Worship 🎶

Worship is a big part of my life right now. Our church service is split about 50/50 between the actual message and worship which is great. And, my playlist for the car or house consists of Elevation Worship Essentials from Apple Music. It’s just the time I am in right now. And the best thing is, most of what I hear on my playlist I have already heard during church.

Worship music is a powerful expression of faith that helps people connect with God through melody, lyrics, and shared experience. In many churches and faith communities, music plays a central role in worship services because it allows believers to express praise, gratitude, and devotion in a way that words alone sometimes cannot. Through singing together, individuals are able to unite their voices and hearts, creating an atmosphere that encourages reflection, joy, and spiritual connection. I love seeing all the hands raised during worship. 🙌🏻

The lyrics of worship songs often focus on themes such as God’s love, grace, faithfulness, and power. At our church, the worship / songs are related to the message. I love this as it all ties together. These songs can remind me of spiritual truths and inspire me during difficult times. Whether the music is traditional hymns passed down through generations or modern worship songs performed with contemporary instruments, the purpose remains the same—to direct attention toward God and encourage a deeper relationship with Him.

Worship music also helps prepare hearts and minds for prayer, teaching, and personal reflection. The rhythm and emotion of the music can create moments of reverence, celebration, or quiet surrender. For many believers, singing worship songs is not just a part of a service but a meaningful way to express their faith, strengthen their spiritual life, and experience a sense of unity with others who share the same beliefs.

The songs we sing on Sunday morning, aren’t your traditional hymns. They are songs about life. Fitting. Speaking to situations or feelings I have. And that my friend, is the best.

Sometimes I just and listen. Song after song. The words sounds like they were written just for me. The songs help me feel closer to God and like someone is listening. That things are going to get better and I’m not the only one in this situation. I mean, why would a song be written if it was just me 😉
